Mission

Since the 1970s, the Black Student Union has been an active student organization on UMBC's campus concerned with community service and empowering and educating UMBC's student body.

It's mission is to serve as a civic, community and cultural resource for Black students and organizations at UMBC. We aim to promote academic excellence, community involvement, and unity. Furthermore, we seek to provide enriching experiences and continual development for students in their quest to obtain a quality and meaningful education. By accomplishing these tasks, we will able to provide our members with a strong support network to be successful while attending UMBC.
